This services is the key to success in ABA programs. Teaching parents the same strategies and techniques that are used during sessions is important as it helps achieve generalization and transfer of the goals into other life environments.
It is key that our CMNB ABA therapy team work with parents to help promote better generalization. This means that once the parents have the tools, strategies, and the understanding of ABA principles, the child will understand that the expectations for their behavior remain even after we fade out of sessions.
Parents who participate in ABA parent training will be supporting their child’s success in:
- ABA treatment services.
- Learning important skills such as self-care, toileting, academic achievement and following daily routines.
- Generalizing and maintaining skills they have learned.
- Demonstrating appropriate, functional, and replacement behaviors including coping and adaptive skills.
